How does my birb develop a personality?
Your birb grows its own personality as it experiences adventures with you! Your responses to adventure stories don’t directly affect likes or dislikes. We’re a small team and plan to add ways for your birb to revisit old adventures in the future 💛
How do I change my birb’s color?
Colors can be changed using dyes from the shop! They look like little shampoo bottles. Once purchased, you can freely change colors in the closet. Check the dressing room and use the drop-down menu to switch from items to dyes. Enjoy styling your birb! 🌈
💎 Finch Plus & Trials
I can’t afford Plus. Any options?
Consider entering the monthly Guardian raffles for a chance to win free Finch Plus! Go to Settings > Become a Guardian > Enter Raffle. Winners may also get highly discounted subscriptions or free Finch Plus if affordability is an issue 💛
Family Plans
Currently, Finch does not support family plans. You can still enter the monthly Guardian raffles for free Plus subscriptions: Raffle Info.
Family Link workaround
Google Family Link often blocks subscriptions. One workaround used by a parent:
- Copy child’s save file to parent’s phone.
- Load the save file on parent’s Finch app.
- Parent purchases subscription and creates new save file for child.
- Load new save file on child’s device.
Understanding Finch Trials
- 3-Day Free Plus Trial: Ends automatically, no subscription.
- 7-Day Free Trial: Turns into a subscription unless manually canceled. One trial per account/email. Charges before the 7 days may occur if trial was used previously, but our team is happy to help with providing a refund.
🐣 Micropets
Duplicate Micropets
Eggs may hatch into a micropet you already have. New variations may appear different from originals. This allows flexibility to have both a baby and adult of the same type.
Missing Discovery in Profile
If you wrote a custom response during an adventure, new discoveries may not appear. This ensures triggering content can be opted out. Sometimes, a bug may report a new discovery without logging it under likes/dislikes.
💾 Data & Save Files
Data Corruption / Lost Items
If you see a data corruption message, we cannot restore lost data. However, we can manually gift up to 30 items and additional rainbow stones. Item ID Reference
Data Loss
All Finch data is local unless you have a Finch Account. Use the "Your Data" section in the app to create/load backup files. If lost, we can help restore items and rainbow stones. Provide your friend code, item IDs (see Item ID Reference), and an estimate of rainbow stones.
Encryption Key Lost
Advanced data protection prevents our team from accessing encrypted cloud backups. We can still help restore items and rainbow stones manually if you provide your friend code, item IDs (see Item ID Reference), and estimate of rainbow stones.
Data Transfer to a New Device
If you have a Finch Account: If you’ve just installed the app, then from the very first screen, tap the “Log In” button. You can log in using either your phone number or email and password. Most users who created Cloud Backup accounts will use an email and password, and most users who recently signed up for Finch will use their phone number and verification code.
If you're using a Manual Backup File:
- When first downloading the app, press Log In > Manual Backup.
- You can also use the "Your Data" section in the app to load your backup file onto your new device.

Gift Not Received After Inviting Friend
Ensure your invited friends are new Finch users and that they created their account through your shared link in order to add you.
Traveling to Specific Locations
The travel agency shows a random assortment of locations each day. Check back regularly to see your preferred locations at discounted prices 🌳

Yearly Recap (Partial Rollout)
Some users have access to the yearly recap, while others will see it later. Nothing is wrong if you don’t see it yet; the feature is being released gradually 💛
Winter Good Vibes Event (Partial Rollout)
The Winter Good Vibes event is also rolling out slowly. If it’s not visible, rest assured, your app is working and the feature will appear when your account receives access ❄️✨
📅 Check-ins
Seasonal Event Not Updating
Try restarting the app or your device with a stable network. If the issue persists, contact support for further troubleshooting 😁
Check-ins & Seasonal Event Calendar
If you’re behind a day on the Finch calendar, it means a missed adventure. Finch days are based on your set waking hours (starting 2 hours earlier than your set wake-up time). Birbs get sleepy near the end of your set sleep time. The calendar doesn’t sync automatically with real-life time. Everything is working as intended 💛
Goals / History Disappearing
Time zone changes or daylight savings can cause a temporary disappearance. Usually resolves in 1-2 days. Leave Finch unopened for 24 hours to help sync. If issues continue, contact support.
💳 Billing & Subscriptions
Refunds
Refunds are handled directly by the App Store or Google Play. You can request one through your device’s purchase history.
- If you can’t find your subscription, double-check the email address used.
- For Google Play, contact their support if you still can’t locate it.
- For Apple, if your refund is denied, we can offer a workaround via Amazon or PayPal.
- Finch provides new users with a 3-day free Plus trial (ends automatically, no subscription) and a 7-day trial that becomes a subscription unless canceled.
Upgraded to Finch Plus, But Nothing Changed?
Tap Restore Purchases in app settings to refresh your subscription.

Relinking a Goal to Micropet Egg
Visit Micropet playland, tap Professor Oat, and select a new goal. If you don't yet have a new egg, you can retrieve one from Professor Oat 💛
Widget Not Updating
Widgets may take a moment to refresh. Re-add or restart your device to sync.
