Understanding Finch Accounts and Cloud Backups

Having a Finch account enables Cloud Backups to keep your data safe, secure, and backed up to our servers. It’s the best way to recover your Finch pet and progress in case you switch phones. 

How do I sign up for a Finch account?

For New Users: 

  • When you join Finch, you can create an account by verifying your phone number.

For Existing Users:

  • Go to Settings. 
  • Tap Profile. 
  • Select Create Account.
  • Note: You may already have a Finch account if you previously signed up for Cloud Backups with your email and password. As we’ve grown, we’ve needed to better support all users and have updated Cloud Backup to Accounts.

What are Cloud Backups?

  • When you sign up for an account, we automatically generate a backup file of your data, encrypt it, and store it securely on our servers.

  • Cloud Backup syncs happen automatically in the background once every 24 hours while you’re using the app, and we handle the storage of these backup files for you.
